To live in a multicultural society and to acquire success in a diverse classroom, students need to develop self-awareness and learn about other cultures.
On Wednesday, March 8th we had our Multicultural Celebration Day at Cheney Tech, which objective was to promote a community of equity, respect and inclusiveness. Students, teachers and parents visited the Multipurpose room to see the displays made by Cheney students, along with artifacts, pieces of artwork, games, musical instruments and food from different cultures. Cheney Tech students in alliance with Prince Tech students modeled traditional clothing and demonstrated dances from different countries.
It was a successful event filled with fun and learning activities.
On behalf of the Cheney Tech Family Engagement committee I would like to express my gratitude to everyone that contributed to a great educational event, Mrs. Bergquist for your unconditional support and commitment, Mrs. Suarez, Ms. DuBois, Mrs. Bustillos, Mrs. Wright, Mrs. Thompson, Mr. Sanchez, Mr. Vasquez, Mr. Seal, Mr. Leggo, Mr. Garner, the Culinary department, the Media department, and the Maintenance staff.
Our special thanks to Mrs. Shaw and the Prince Tech students for the great partnership, the Skills students and the Cheney Administrative Team for their continuous support.
Our success during Multicultural Celebration is another example of Teamwork at Cheney Tech.
